How to download and open your files

Last updated Aug 22, 2026

Everything you buy arrives as a ZIP file — one tidy package containing every version of the product (US Letter and A4, colour and ink saver, or the spreadsheet plus its guide).

Where your download lives

Right after payment you land on your order page, which has a download button for each product. That page belongs to you: bookmark it and you can re-download at any time, including future free updates. Lost it? Go to Find my order and enter the email address on your PayPal account.

iPhone and iPad

  1. Tap Download. Safari saves the ZIP to the Files app (Downloads folder).
  2. Open Files → Downloads and tap the ZIP once. iOS unzips it into a folder with the same name.
  3. Open the folder and tap a PDF to view it.
  4. To use a planner in GoodNotes: tap the PDF, tap the share icon, choose GoodNotes → Import as new document. Hyperlinks work in reading mode (not while the eraser or lasso is active). In Notability: Import → Files → choose the PDF. In Xodo or Penly (Android): open the PDF from Files.

Android

  1. Tap Download; the file goes to your Downloads folder.
  2. Open Files by Google → Downloads, tap the ZIP, then Extract.
  3. Open a PDF with Drive PDF Viewer, Xodo or Penly.

Windows

Right-click the ZIP → Extract All… → Extract. Open the folder that appears. Do not open PDFs from "inside" the ZIP preview — extract first, or hyperlinks and printing may misbehave.

Mac

Double-click the ZIP; a folder appears next to it. Open the PDFs in Preview, or right-click → Open With → Adobe Acrobat Reader for the most reliable hyperlink support.

Printing a printable properly

In the print dialog set Scale: 100% or Actual size — not "Fit to page", which shrinks the page and breaks the margins. Use the US Letter file in the US and Canada, and the A4 file everywhere else. The Ink Saver version uses far less ink on black-and-white printers. Regular 80–100 gsm paper is fine; 120–160 gsm cardstock is better for cash envelopes and dividers.

Opening a spreadsheet in Google Sheets

  1. Go to drive.google.com and drag the .xlsx file in (or New → File upload).
  2. Double-click the uploaded file → Open with → Google Sheets.
  3. File → Save as Google Sheets so your changes stick. Everything is built with functions Google Sheets supports — no macros, nothing to enable. Excel data bars are the one thing Sheets does not draw; the numbers underneath still work.

Opening a spreadsheet in Excel

Double-click the .xlsx. If Excel shows a yellow "Protected View" bar, click Enable Editing (this is normal for any downloaded file). Excel 2016 or newer, Excel 365, and Excel for Mac all work. On a phone, the Excel app opens it too, though a big dashboard is easier on a laptop.
