Every budgeting app asks for the same three things before it will tell you anything: an account, a subscription, and your bank login. This one asks for none of them. It is a single file. You save it to your phone or your computer, open it like a page, and it works — on a plane, in a basement, on a laptop that has never been online. There is no server anywhere in it, because there is no server: open the file in a text editor and search for "http" and you will not find one.
What it tells you is the number people actually want. Not "you spent £412 on groceries" three weeks too late, but: here is the money in your accounts, here are the bills that fall due before you next get paid, here is what you have already promised to your savings goals — and this, after all of that, is what is genuinely free to spend today. If that number is negative, it says so plainly instead of colouring a chart amber.
The arithmetic is not taken on trust. Every figure in it — the safe-to-spend number, the plan-versus-actual for each category, when a bill next falls due, how much a savings goal needs each month, the pace you are spending at — is checked against a second, independently written model over 779 scenarios before the file is ever packaged. That check is how we found a real bug during the build: a bill set for the 31st was drifting three days earlier and never coming back, because February had moved it. Yours will not do that.
It speaks eight languages and any currency, and it switches between them with one menu — including the plural forms, so it says "in 1 day" and "через 21 день", not "in 1 days". Your entries live in your own browser, and you can take a backup file out whenever you like, or a plain CSV for your accountant. Nothing is locked. Nothing expires. There is no account to close.

Is this really not an app I have to install?
It is a web page saved as a file. On a computer you double-click it; on a phone you open it from your files or add it to your home screen. Nothing installs, nothing asks for permissions, and it works with the aeroplane mode on.
Where do my figures go?
Into the storage of the browser you opened the file in, on that device. They are not sent anywhere: the file contains no network code at all, which you can verify yourself by opening it in a text editor and searching for "http" or "fetch". The flip side is that clearing your browser's site data will erase them, so the file has a backup button — use it.
Does it connect to my bank?
No, and it cannot. Entries are typed in or pasted from a CSV. That is the trade: you do the typing, and no third party ever holds your bank credentials.
Can I use it on my phone and my laptop?
Yes, but they are separate copies with separate storage — the file has no server to sync through. Move a backup file between them when you want them to match. Many people keep the phone copy for quick entry and the laptop copy for the monthly review.
What if I lose the file?
Your download link keeps working, and updates are free, so you can fetch the file again. What the link cannot bring back are your entries — those live only in your browser and in the backup files you save. Save one after every monthly review; it takes a second.
Which currencies and languages does it handle?
Eighteen currencies from the menu, formatted the way each language formats money, and eight languages: English, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch and Russian. Switching language does not touch your entries.
How do I know the arithmetic is right?
Because it is checked against a second implementation written separately from the first, over 779 scenarios that include the awkward ones — 29 February, bills on the 31st, overdue bills, a month with no entries, a goal whose date has passed. The download includes the rules and the result. During the build the check caught a genuine bug in bill dates, which is exactly what it is for.
Is there a subscription, or will it stop working?
No subscription and no expiry. There is nothing to renew, no licence server to check in with, and no account to be locked out of. The file you download works for as long as browsers open .html files.
