A cheaper unit rate does not always mean a cheaper electricity bill. Energy Bill & Tariff Lab combines consumption, time bands, fixed charges and demand charges in one visible calculation.
Import meter or interval data, define the actual tariff terms and compare the calculated lines with your supplier's bill. Missing data stays visible instead of becoming assumed zero usage.
Test alternative tariffs and load schedules using the same consumption, with energy savings kept separate from changes in peak-demand charges.
What you get
- Meter and interval-data imports: interval kWh, average kW or cumulative register readings, multiplier, site time zone and clock changes kept as real 23- or 25-hour days.
- Data quality shown, never hidden: missing intervals, duplicates, conflicts, overlaps, negative values and coverage — a gap is never counted as zero.
- Time-of-use and tiered tariffs with dated versions: band rates, tiers on the total volume or inside each band, band rates plus surcharge tiers, date exceptions.
- Fixed and demand charges: per calendar day or per period; fixed or rolling demand windows, chargeable hours, minimum demand and a historical ratchet.
- Line-by-line bill comparison against your supplier's bill: matches, differs, not comparable or no data — a difference is never called an overpayment.
- Load-shifting scenarios and tariff comparison on the same consumption, with calculation reports, CSV exports and full backups.
How it works
- Bring in your meter data. Meters & data: import interval data or register readings from CSV or XLSX, or type them; the quality check shows gaps, duplicates and clock changes.
- Enter your tariff. Tariffs: time bands, tiers, fixed charge, demand terms, other lines and taxes exactly as your contract states them, in dated versions.
- Check the bill. Bill check: the bill rebuilt line by line with how each line was calculated, compared with each line of your supplier's bill.
- Compare and test changes. Compare prices the same consumption with other tariffs; Load shifting moves a load to other hours and recalculates energy, peak and payback.
Limits
Tariffs are entered by the user. No live supplier-price feed and no connection to your supplier. Detailed time-of-use and demand analysis requires suitable interval data; hourly data cannot give an exact 15-minute peak. Taxes are bill arithmetic with the rates you enter. The app does not predict future prices or consumption and does not decide disputes with your supplier. Not legal, tax or energy-market advice.
Questions
Does it use AI?
No. No AI guesses: every bill line is calculated with fixed formulas from the tariff and the consumption data you enter, and shows its working.
Do I need a subscription?
No subscription is required for the one-time purchase of this product. Access through TidyCents PRO follows the current PRO terms.
What does PRO include?
The full online version of this tool while your PRO is active, including exporting your own reports and backups. Those exports do not use your downloadable-library allowance.
Is the offline program included in PRO?
No. The downloadable offline program, guide and import templates come with the one-time purchase.
Where is my data stored?
Working records are stored in your browser on your device. Nothing you enter is sent to a server. Keep a backup, especially before changing browsers, clearing browser data or moving to another device.
Can I move my records to another device?
Yes. Export a full backup and restore it in the same product on the other device.
Can several people edit the same workspace at once?
This version is designed for one local workspace. It does not provide simultaneous shared editing.
What happens when PRO ends?
Your records stay on your device. Without an active PRO or a purchase the online version opens them read-only, and you can still export a backup and CSV files. Renewing PRO or buying the tool makes them editable again.
Which units and currencies does it support?
Energy in kWh, Wh or MWh and average power in kW, W or MW, with a meter multiplier; any currency with its minor unit; any IANA time zone for the site. One tariff and one bill use one currency.
What does the program NOT do?
It does not load supplier prices, connect to your supplier or meter, predict future prices or consumption, decide whether you were overcharged or give legal, tax or energy-market advice. Taxes are calculated only with the rates you enter.
Which calculations require interval data?
Energy split by time band, the measured peak and the demand charge, and load-shift effects on the peak need interval data whose length is not longer than the demand window. With register readings or volumes typed from the bill the app prices tiers, flat rates and per-band volumes you enter, and a load shift is shown as an energy-charge estimate only — no demand saving is promised.
Is a missing interval treated as zero?
No. A missing interval stays missing: the bill is marked as insufficient data and only the known part is shown; the measured peak is shown as a lower bound.
