Oregon shows N/A because it levies no IFTA fuel tax on diesel: miles driven there still count in total and taxable miles on the return; only the tax line is not computed.
Surcharge lines
The surcharge is an additional per-gallon amount computed on taxable gallons consumed in the jurisdiction — it cannot be prepaid at the pump, so it is owed even when the fuel line is a credit. Indiana carries a surcharge line in the matrix, but both sources print it as N/A this quarter — shown as N/A, not assumed to be zero.

Where every line comes from
Two independent primary sources, cross-checked name by name; a line the two disagree on is not published at all. Validating the parser on an archived quarter caught a typo in one source’s own cell — which is exactly why a single source is never trusted.
Quarterly, by design
IFTA rates are re-set every quarter, so each row names its quarter, and the dataset only ever covers quarters both sources have finalised. A later quarter, once verified, is added as new rows; existing rows never change.
What this does not cover
Read the limits before relying on the table:
- Gasoline, propane, LNG, CNG and every other fuel type — the matrix publishes them as separate columns; this dataset carries the special diesel column only.
- Quarters the cross-check has not passed for. As of 2026-09-02 that includes 3Q2026: one primary (the IFTA, Inc. matrix) has published final rates, but New York’s IFTA-105 table for the quarter has not appeared, so no 3Q line is published.
- Jurisdictions outside the matrix (Alaska, Hawaii, DC, Mexico and the territories are not IFTA member jurisdictions and have no line in the sources).
- How to file. The rates are inputs to Form IFTA-101; the return’s mechanics (taxable gallons, MPG, credits, the surcharge arithmetic) are the workbook’s and calculator’s job, not this table’s.

The rates are facts published by the member jurisdictions in public government tables; facts are not copyrightable. CC0 is applied to this compilation so no doubt attaches to reusing it — copy it into a dispatch sheet, a TMS, or a research file, with or without attribution.
Use the rates
The same captured matrix feeds the Rates sheet of our IFTA workbook; the free calculator runs the full Form IFTA-101 arithmetic — fleet MPG, taxable gallons, credits and the surcharge — with every rate editable.
