Type one x a day and the spreadsheet does the rest. Set up your habits once on the Settings sheet — name, category, and a realistic target in days per week — and they appear on all twelve monthly grids automatically. Each grid gives you a day-by-day column with weekday letters, greys out the days that do not exist in that month, and adds up your total, your target for that month, your percentage of target, your longest streak and a count for every week.

The clever part is what happens without you. Streaks run continuously across month boundaries, so a run from 20 January to 8 February counts as 20 days, not two short ones. The Streaks sheet shows every habit's check-ins, best streak and the month it ended in, current streak and this week's count, plus three habit-by-month matrices. Year in Pixels turns your whole year into a 31 × 12 colour grid — one square per day, darker when you did more. The Dashboard adds twelve KPIs and three charts: completion by habit, the monthly trend and a category split.

Everything is calculated from your inputs — no macros, nothing locked, no hidden sheets you cannot see. It ships with three months of realistic sample data so every chart looks alive the moment you open it, and clear instructions for wiping it in about ten seconds. Built with classic formulas only, so it behaves identically in Excel 2016+ and Google Sheets.

Fragen

Does it work in Google Sheets?

Yes. Upload the .xlsx to Google Drive, open it and choose File → Save as Google Sheets. Every formula, dropdown, chart and conditional format is Sheets-compatible. The only Excel-only touch is the in-cell data bar on two columns; the numbers beside them work everywhere.

What do I actually type each day?

An x (or the number 1) in the cell under today's date, on the row for that habit. Nothing else. Both marks are counted, so you can mix them.

Can I start in the middle of the year?

Yes. Set "Tracking start date" on Settings and all statistics run from that day, so an August start does not count January to July against you.

How are streaks counted?

A streak is consecutive days with a mark, and it carries over between months — the helper rows under each grid keep a running count. "Best streak" for a month is the longest run that ended in that month, so the year's best is exactly the longest run you ever had. Today going unmarked does not break a streak until tomorrow.

How do I clear the sample data?

Six habits and three months of check-ins are filled in so nothing looks empty on first open. On Settings select the yellow habit cells and press Delete; do the same on the Jan, Feb and Mar grids and the yellow notes on Habit Review; then clear the as-of date. Start Here spells it out.

Why targets per week rather than per day?

Because a 3-days-a-week habit that you hit three times is a success, not a 43% failure. Monthly targets are worked out as target days per week × days in the month ÷ 7, so a three-day habit hitting three days a week shows 100%.

Is anything locked or macro-based?

No. No macros, no protected sheets, no external links. Blue-on-yellow cells are yours to type in, black cells are formulas.
