A competitor's smaller price tag does not prove a cheaper equivalent offer. Pack size, variant, order quantity, delivery charge and tax basis can all change the comparison before your own margin is even considered. Competitor Price & Offer Watch puts every offer on the same basket of physical units, keeps each reading with its source and date, and checks your own response price against the minimum contribution you set.

For independent sellers and larger commercial teams: compare pack sizes, variants, order quantities and delivery conditions before treating a competitor's headline price as cheaper. Keep departments, branches and product groups separate in one workspace, filter by them and print or export the comparison for exactly the SKUs you are reviewing.

Record the evidence. Add manual observations, import structured files or refresh explicitly supported public catalogues online. Every observation keeps its source and date. A failed refresh leaves a stale last-known price rather than replacing it with zero, and an identical reading is not stored twice.

Compare the same basket. Prices are normalised by units and include known delivery and tax charges on the same basis. A price that already includes tax is never taxed again. Out-of-stock, expired or unconfirmed matches stay visible without becoming the cheapest available offer, and offers with unknown delivery or tax are listed separately as item-only prices.

Worked example from the fictional demo: one supplier sells a 6-pack of spark plugs for $60 with $6 delivery — $11.00 per plug. Another sells single plugs for $10 and charges $2 delivery for six — $62, or $10.33 per plug, so the cheaper-looking 6-pack is not the cheaper basket. For an oil filter with $10 unit cost, $2 fulfilment, a $0.50 fixed fee, a 10% price fee and a $5 minimum contribution, the floor rounds up to $19.45: it leaves $5.005, while $19.44 would leave only $4.996.

Check your response. Enter unit cost, fulfilment, a simple fee structure and your minimum contribution. See the price below which a one-unit order falls short, and whether matching the cheapest comparable offer keeps that floor. The tool does not assume that matching a competitor will increase demand, and it never changes a price in your shop. Currency moves are kept apart from price moves: an offer that fell from 20 to 18 in euros fell 10%, even if the exchange rate makes it only 1% cheaper in dollars.

No AI guesses: every result shows its working — the formula, the inputs, the basket and the exchange rate are one click away. Open the two fictional demos — an auto-parts shop with 12 SKUs and a parts group with 250 SKUs, five competitors and four branches — then buy once for the full online tool and the offline file, or open it with an active PRO subscription.

What you get

  • Offer comparison screen: your SKUs on the left, matched competitor offers side by side with the price per comparable unit and the history, and your own price floor with the response check on the right.
  • Same-basket normalisation: pack units × packs, discount, delivery and tax on one basket of physical units; tax-inclusive prices never taxed twice; unknown delivery or tax shown as incomplete, never 0.
  • Matching you confirm: variant ID, attributes and pack size per offer; unconfirmed matches wait in a review queue and are never ranked; variants of one competitor are never mixed.
  • Ranking only of confirmed, valid, in-stock offers with a complete delivered price; ordinary median of normalised unit prices; out-of-stock, expired and stale offers stay visible and labelled.
  • Dated history per offer: change in the offer's own currency kept apart from the change in your currency, so an exchange-rate move is not read as a price change.
  • Price floor for one order of one listing, rounded up to your currency step and re-checked; response check against the cheapest comparable offer with the exact shortfall.
  • On-request refresh of explicitly supported public catalogues in the full online tool; CSV/XLSX import of SKUs, offers and up to 50,000 observations per file with a check of every row before saving.
  • Printable offer comparison with source, time, basket and exchange rate; CSV exports of the comparison, floors, matching and history; full backups; 8 languages.

How it works

  1. Add your SKUs. The basket you compare on, your displayed price, sales tax rate and delivery charge, and the costs behind your floor — by hand or from a CSV/XLSX file.
  2. Match competitor offers. One offer per competitor variant and pack size. Confirm the match only after checking variant, size and pack; until then it waits in the review queue.
  3. Record observations. Dated prices with delivery, tax basis, availability and evidence — manual, imported, or refreshed on request from a supported public catalogue.
  4. Compare and check your response. Per-unit delivered prices on the same basket, the history, your floor and whether matching keeps it. Print the comparison or export it.

Limits

Uses the prices, delivery charges, tax amounts, exchange rates and costs you enter or import. It does not read every competitor site: the online refresh covers only explicitly supported public catalogues (Shopify-compatible /products.json and product pages) without sign-in; protected and signed-in prices are not accessed and no protection is bypassed. There is no automatic monitoring, no alerts and no price change in any shop. The floor is a simple one-order, one-listing model — bundles, returns and stepped marketplace fees belong in Marketplace Profit & Price. Matching a name or SKU does not prove the same product: you confirm each match. Decision support for your own business, not legal, tax or competition advice.

Questions

Does it change my shop prices?

No. It calculates and shows; it never changes a price in your shop or anywhere else.

Does it read every competitor site?

No. The full online tool reads only explicitly supported public catalogues without sign-in, and only when you press the button. All other offers are recorded by hand or imported from CSV/XLSX.

Is a failed fetch a price change?

No. A timeout, refusal, wait request or unreadable answer keeps the last good price, labelled stale. A variant that has disappeared is shown as not found, never as price 0.

Does the simple floor model bundles and stepped marketplace fees?

No. It covers one order of one listing with a percentage fee and a fixed fee. Use Marketplace Profit & Price for bundles, returns and stepped channel fees.

Why is a cheaper-looking offer not ranked first?

Prices are compared per physical unit on the same basket, including delivery and tax. Offers with another basket, unconfirmed matches, out-of-stock or expired offers and offers with unknown delivery or tax are not ranked.

How are other currencies handled?

You enter the exchange rate with each observation. The history shows the change in the offer's own currency separately from the change in yours, so a currency move is not read as a price change.

Does this use AI?

No. Every result follows fixed formulas with the inputs, basket and exchange rate shown. No AI guesses.

What is included in a one-time purchase?

The full online tool, the self-contained offline package, a guide, templates and your own reports and backups, under the licence shown at checkout.

Is it included in PRO?

Active PRO Week, Month and Year subscribers can use the full online tool, including the online refresh of supported catalogues. The offline program for this new tool is included only with a one-time purchase.

What happens if PRO ends?

You can still view and back up your existing local records. Creating or editing records and the online refresh require renewed PRO or a one-time purchase.

Where are my records stored?

In your browser on this device. Save regular backups; clearing browser storage can remove local records. A catalogue check passes only the source address through our server and stores nothing there.

Does the demo accept my data?

No. The demo uses fictional data, and its catalogue check reads a fixed sample answer, never a website. Your own records, imports and online checks are in the full version.

Business license for use in your own business. No resale or redistribution. Opens in your browser right after payment, on phone and computer. Your figures stay on your device. No physical item.
