Wedding planning falls apart in the gaps between spreadsheets: the budget lives in one file, the guest list in another, and nobody knows what is due next week. This workbook keeps all of it in one place. Type your wedding date, your total budget and a percentage split, and the Budget sheet fills itself in. Add vendors as you research them, put every deposit and balance on the Payment Schedule, and the Dashboard shows the countdown, what you have paid, what is still owed and which payment is next.
Thirteen linked sheets and 2,629 formulas do the arithmetic: 25 budget categories with a suggested split, 40 vendor rows with quotes and contract status, 120 scheduled payments that flag themselves Overdue or Due soon 14 days out, a 300-row guest list with RSVPs, meal choices and dietary notes, a 20-table seating chart that fills itself from the table numbers you type, and a 91-task timeline whose due dates count back from your wedding date. There is also a day-of timeline in 30-minute slots, a three-quote vendor comparison, a gift and thank-you log, and a honeymoon budget.
Two files are included: one pre-filled with a realistic example wedding (25,000 budget, 120 guests) so every chart is alive when you open it, and a blank copy if you would rather start clean. Built with classic formulas only — no macros, no add-ins, nothing locked — so it behaves the same in Excel 2016+, Excel 365 and Google Sheets, on a laptop or a phone.

Questions
Does it work in Google Sheets?
Yes. Upload the .xlsx to Google Drive, open it and choose File → Save as Google Sheets. Every formula uses functions Sheets supports (SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, INDEX/MATCH, EDATE, TEXT, SMALL/LARGE); there are no macros, no XLOOKUP and no dynamic arrays. A one-page PDF guide walks you through it.
Can my partner and I edit it at the same time?
In Google Sheets, yes — convert the file, then Share it with each other and you can both type at once, including from the Sheets phone app. In Excel it is a normal file: use OneDrive or SharePoint for co-authoring, or take turns.
Is it locked to US dollars or a US wedding?
No. The currency symbol on Settings is used in the labels and the numbers follow your own regional format, so it works with $, £, €, kr, ₹ or anything else. Category names, the checklist and the timeline are all editable text.
How many guests and vendors does it hold?
300 guest rows (a row can be one person or a whole household, with the number attending in its own column), 40 vendors, 120 scheduled payments, 200 gifts and 20 tables. Email us if you need a bigger version — it is free.
Do I have to delete the sample wedding?
Only if you want to. The download includes a second file, Wedding-Budget-Planner-BLANK.xlsx, with the example vendors, payments, guests and gifts already removed — the settings, categories and the full checklist are still there.
How are the checklist due dates calculated?
Each task has a "months before" and a "days before" number, and the due date is EDATE(your wedding date, −months) − days. Change your date on Settings and all 91 due dates move with it. You can edit the numbers or add your own tasks.
